The TURN UP THE HEAT Campaign is officially launched as of February 1, 2012. This Campaign is for the purposes of raising funds to support the replacement of the 30+ heating/cooling system by spring 2012. If the system were to fail the 20 bed inpatient detox facility would be forced to close so time is of the essence. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have already supported this campaign.
To bring further attention to our plight Phoenix Centre TENT EVENT will be held February 11th, 2012. Phoenix Centre representatives will stay overnight in the Aberdeen Mall parking lot in a tent. Hotdogs and beverages will be sold to support the cause and Estry the Illusionist will perform from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in return for donations to Phoenix Centre.
TURN Up THE HEAT this VALENTINES DAY
February 14th marks an auspicious occasion – Valentines Day. This Valentines Day you can truly open up your heart and purchase a ‘Magic-Gram’ for your loved one. This is a magical illusion crafted especially for your Valentine and performed by Estry the Illusionist at a location of your choice. All proceeds from the sales of ‘Magic-Grams’ February 14, 2012 will be donated to Phoenix Centre to support the TURN UP THE HEAT Campaign (to raise donations to support the replacement of a 30+ year old heating/cooling system). Estry will also be performing her magic for a donation to Phoenix Centre every Saturday for the month of February 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Aberdeen Mall. TURN UP THE HEAT CAMPAIGN 2012
February 2012 is the start of our TURN UP THE HEAT Campaign. All money raised will assist us in replacing our heating system and keeping our doors open. Phoenix Centre provides a 20 bed medically supported withdrawal management program (detox) for adults and outpatient programs for youth and families with substance use issues. We are a regional resource that provides services to more than 1500 people every year. Our services are needed so please support us by making a donation today. We will also be camping overnight in the Mall parking lot Saturday February 11th. We are thrilled to have a tent donated by the Rocky Mountain Rangers - one that is insulated and fitting for a camp-out in February (brrrrr) and cots; and Jasco Rentals will be suppying heaters & a generator - thank you! Courtesy of the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club there will be a BBQ with hotdogs and beverages for purchase. All money raised will go towards the Phoenix Centre furnace replacement. We also want to thank City of Kamloops Community Safety, Citizens on Patrol who will be visiting our camp site in the wee hours of Febraury 12th to ensure all is well.
In addition both Blenz at the Mall and Blenz downtown will donate $1.00 from all hot chocolates and mocha coffees sold on February 11th and 12th to support Phoenix Centre and the TURN UP THE HEAT Campaign. So visit Blenz just inside the main entrance to the Mall near the food court or Blenz at 210 Victoria Street. They are experts in making your tastebuds happy! More good news for your taste buds: Purdy's Chocolates in the Mall has donated 100 milk chocolate heart lollies. All proceeds from the sale of these lollies will go towards the Phoenix Centre furnace replacement. East Side Mario's is providing sustenance for the campers and giving a savings coupon to those who donate to Phoenix Centre onsite at Aberdeen Mall February 11, 2012.

Visual Signs and Awards is creating and donating a Phoenix Centre banner that will have our beautiful new logo.
Estry Hiltz, Illusionist will be performing shows on Saturdays 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in February 4, 11, 18 and 25 at the Aberdeen Mall as well as donating all proceeds from Magic-Grams purchased February 14th (similar to singing telegrams but performing magic).
